So I did say I would try to keep up with this blog, and put my thoughts in as I go along this process. Well that didn’t happen.
Honestly I have been really busy with the movie though, and we have had many breakthroughs over the last month or so, and things are finally nearing a close, and we can see the finish line at this point.
My biggest problem I thought would be the audio of the flick, I knew it was going to be hard to clean it up. Luckily someone from the past comes back and is able to help out, and it looks like we have the guy to fix our audio, as well as come aboard for future projects in a bigger capacity.
We are about done editing it, I have put a deadline on myself of March 21st. Right now, I would say I am ahead of schedule. We have everything layed out at this point, now we need to go in and tweak things as well as possibly shorten it up a bit.
There are still some things we are not sure if it works or not, but we will figure it out. I really forgot how funny this movie was, going through and editing we really do believe in this flick and feel this could be a lot bigger than ever thought. We just need to find the right people now to help us get it out there.
Over the last few days we have been brain storming here and there about the upcoming flick we want to write. We are so excited about it, and I cannot wait to sit down and actually put it all together.
First thing is first though and we need to finally put the finishing touched on D-BAG. I have high hopes for this movie as far as what it can bring us, I just need to get it done. I feel I am finally ready to sit down and focus and just do all that needs to be done to get it ready as soon as possible.
Now it’s time to do it.
Whoa! It has been awhile…
I am going to post on here more often. It has been almost 6 months or so since I last posted in here, and a lot has changed. Not so much with the movie but more of where we are currently at and all. (No more ghetto!)
I am looking to have the movie finished up by the end of this month, and while shopping it we will go right into the next, which has a tentative title of “Heroes vs Vamps.” First time I have actually said that anywhere in a public forum yet.
Editing is a tedious process, and one that needs much patience and a keen eye. I will have this done by the end of the month, I am very excited to start the shopping process for this film and see what may be out there for us.
I will be back on here soon…hopefully. ;p
Well it was certainly an interesting experience from the start.
We got in fine, but when it came time for the panel, it was not so easy. At first they told us that we would need a laptop to show our trailer, even though that was not told to us. Luckily though that got figured out and we showed it on our “crap” quality DVD.
So here we go thinking it will just be a variety of different types of trailers, NOPE. It was every big Hollywood blockbuster that is going to be coming out and….D-BAG. Wow! I knew we were minutes away from being booed out of the place. You see all these massive budgeted movies and then us.
Almost every movie played did not get any response except Inception, the trailer before ours, the new “Resident Evil” was booed. Our trailer did not get booed, even got some chuckles. It could have been worse, it wasn’t really our target audience, I was expecting a much younger audience. Everyone there seemed to be 40 and older. Our audience is 17-30. With a hardcore point at 17-25. Those who are just going to college, or just got out of college or just leaving high school are our main audience.
After the trailer though it was pretty cool having some people track us down to ask for posters to get autographed from us, always a cool feeling.
Today we go back to Wizard World to shoot some documentary stuff, and look actually enjoy the convention a little.
Worrying: Over.
Wanted to write this last night, but didn’t have time.
So we spent literally 14 hours yesterday to finally get the trailer on a disc and playable in a DVD player, ugh.
In a few hours we will be premiering the trailer at Wizard World Philadelphia! We got in thanks to our new buddy, shocker toys CEO, Geoff Beckett. It’s been a crazy few days.
I am psyched about this and so nervous at the same time. This is our first time showing any footage to a public audience. It will be interesting, not sure though how good or bad I can take it based on response. For all I know those attending the panel may not be our demographic. Either way though, this is still a huge opportunity and I am nervous, haha.
Will post again later about how it went. Also can’t wait to see lil’ Adrian in his “D-BAG” shirt!
I finally have a smart phone, really came down to needing one with what I do. Its a blackberry by the way, no iphone yet.
It has been awhile since an update. I will type one up later, so much going on.
Ever have those moments where you feel like you are alone in getting it all done when it is supposed to be a group effort?
That’s kind of how we feel at this point. It’s just little things that are said or when you feel like you are bothering someone when asking them to do what they agreed to.
We have been busting our asses to make sure everything sticks to schedule, sorry if we interrupted your life while we try to make your career for you.
Rant over…
We have so much to do and not too much time to do it.
Within 2 weeks we will be premiering the trailer to the masses at Wizard World Philadelphia, this should be crazy. I have no idea what to expect from being a part of my first panel, it will be interesting to say the least. I expect people to be very indifferent on it at the panel though as it is not what they are there for.
I have to put together the little short we filmed “Yo Bizness,” to put before the trailer for the convention. We are going to try and spin “Yo Bizness” off into it’s own little web series and then eventually make a DVD compilation. “Yo Bizness,” is pretty much a MTV Cribs type show just showcasing a bunch of geeky businesses, including toys, video games, comics etc..
Yes I know, just another thing to add on to everything else, haha. That’s not all though we also plan on shooting a documentary at Wizard World Philly about comic book conventions, it seems we will have access to many people so might as well take advantage of it.
Most important though is of course, “D-BAG.” The movies hype continues to spread as we near closer to release, today we are designing our official logo for Slow Dinosaur Productions so we can create some business cards for WW Philly.
All of this while looking for a new place to move into by the end of next month hopefully.
Today just as the title states was…AWESOME!
Shot a cool little skit for the special features of the D-BAG DVD, and was just a lot of fun. We also met with someone who I hope to have a professional relationship with for a long time, looks like we may have a piece of a panel at Wizard World Philadelphia thanks to Shocker Toys.
Did I also mention we will be going to the celebrity VIP party?
It has been a few days since I went on here, a lot has gone on also. About to have to go to bed though for the early day tomorrow.
We are going to be visiting with Shocker Toys, as well as shooting a little skit with them for the special features portion of our DVD. I, personally am very excited about this relationship as it is a great company who produces some of the best indie action figures you will see.
The other thing that we will be involved with them for now I will keep secret, if it comes to fruition it will be beyond huge for us. We are trying to garner up as much press as possible to get this movie out there and sold.
The upcoming few weeks will be interesting, as Lara and I look to move out of the ghetto and into a welcoming area, as well as editing, doing the website, finishing up product placement deals, getting to know everything about Final Cut that there is to know all of this while I also look to complete my college degree.
Ooooooof! :p
